NuVu’s Fall Trimester in Review
Partnership Collaborators
Queer Youth Empowerment Studio + Design Museum Everywhere
This fall, NuVu partnered with Design Museum Everywhere on a pair of events. First, NuVu co-hosted a panel on LGBTQ+ identity and celebration in public spaces. Then, students in our Queer Youth Empowerment studio designed their own event, aimed at encouraging young people to live authentically. The success of both events makes us even more excited to partner with Design Museum Everywhere in the future.
Interactive Fiction Studio + Scream Jam
For the month of October, our students combined gothic literature and coding (specifically Twinery) to create interactive spooky stories. Our students submitted their work to the Scream Jam Competition for all to enjoy!
Club Fair Recap
Last month, we hosted our annual Student Club Fair, showcasing the incredible diversity of interests within our student body. From the Art Club to Dungeons & Dragons, Gamer Club, and Climbing Club, our students are leading the charge in creating vibrant and engaging communities.
Speaker Series
NuVu students met incredible local makers, designers, ethicists, and artists throughout the fall during our Monday Speakers’ Series. Naomi Hashimoto led students in a creative anti-perfectionism workshop. Daniella DiPaola spurred a conversation about robotics, ethics, and corporate accountability. Darryl Murphy shared his work as a journalist with WBUR.
