Happy New Year! Let's dive into the latest updates and highlights from NuVu Innovation School and make 2024 a year of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning!

Exploring Ecological Intelligence

We hit the trails with a recent visit to the Fisher Museum at the Harvard Forest as students explored Ecological Intelligence and the use of technology to monitor wildlife and ecosystems remotely. The 4,000-acre Harvard Forest serves as a vibrant hub for researchers and NuVu students. It was a chance to witness data collection and its various research applications. The hosts unveiled the forest's ecological study practices, prompting discussions on their ethical implications. We raised questions such as whether humans should have the agency to cut down trees for research purposes. And what if the trees decided to run an experiment on how much oxygen each human gets?

Visiting Expert Feature: Ayush Gandhi

Driven by childhood experiences with diverse learning styles, Visiting Expert Ayush Gandhi joined NuVu to explore the potential of alternative education. Witnessing project-based learning in action has solidified his belief in tailoring education to individual needs. His focus now: demystifying and tackling the assessment challenge. “How do we assess students of a project-based curriculum with standardized testing?” he asks. “We have to change the assessment itself.” The vision - dynamic, project-based assessments that truly capture individual growth - is what fuels their passion for transforming education.
