Director of Marketing
NuVu Innovation School is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Marketing and Brand Innovation to lead our strategic marketing initiatives. As a Director of Marketing, you will have the opportunity to shape and amplify the NuVu brand, engage with diverse stakeholders, and drive enrollment growth through innovative marketing strategies. This position requires a creative mindset, a passion for education, and a strong understanding of digital media and emerging trends.
With a current enrollment of 55 students, we are on a mission to expand our reach and welcome 100 students over the next two to three years. In this newly created position, our ideal candidate is passionate about innovative learning and thinking, thrives in a highly collaborative environment, and is an initiative taker.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, goal-oriented admissions professional who enjoys building relationships and working in a competitive admissions landscape. An exceptional communicator and listener, the Admissions Director will possess a recruiter’s mindset, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach to working with families, educational consultants, colleagues, and key stakeholders. The Director will understand how to develop an outreach program that educates the marketplace about the value proposition of the school’s diverse offerings. This role will appeal to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with talented colleagues who put students first.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Marketing Strategy
- Create and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase enrollment and promote the school's unique offerings.
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies that align with the school's financial goals.
- Content Creation and Digital Marketing:
- Contribute to and manage the school's online presence, including the website and social media channels, to engage current students and families and attract new ones.
- Cultivate relationships with local media outlets, community organizations, educational institutions, and industry leaders to expand our reach.
- Ensure consistency in messaging across all communication platforms.
- Community Engagement:
- Devote special attention to marketing strategies that support NuVu’s strong commitment to a diverse student body.
- Organize and attend events to promote the school and connect with prospective families. This includes marketing and facilitating four Open Houses in the Fall and Winter.
- Strengthen our alumni network so that alums are part of our recruiting efforts.
- Strengthen our connections with feeder schools.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Provide regular reports to school leadership on marketing performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Brand Management:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the school's brand identity, ensuring a consistent and positive image in the community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to promote these values through marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Passion for innovative education and a genuine commitment to promoting NuVu’s mission and values.
- Proficient in MailChimp communications platforms; design and editing platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva, Niche, and website edits to CMS in addition to social media platforms
- Have knowledge and develop optimization strategies that increase the company's website search engine results (SEO) rankings and searchability
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
- Have self-initiative and strong problem-solving skills with a high tolerance for ambiguity
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative marketing ideas.
- Knowledge of Boston educational landscape.

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000, depending on experience
